Couldn't agree more. The information that comes from blogs needs to be strained through the proverbial cheese cloth as to it's actual usefulness. My blog is mostly about photography and it's probably sucks. But I don't need the opinion of another person on a product that they have likely never laid hands on.

The blogs that matter to me the most would be considered "Dear Diary" posts. I like to hear about the struggles, the successes, the accomplishments of photographers, and others as well, of whose work I admire. I like to hear about how they approach the process and what works for them. It's much better than another technical how-to blog.

My site probably sucks but I only have 4 readers so it doesn't really matter. It's opened up a world I would have otherwise never been exposed to by just putting my thoughts and opinions out there for someone to stumble across.

Anyway, nice post.

Comment on The Action Method: How I Get Things Done Despite My 15-Second Attention Span by Nathan

@Bruce - I'm happy to report that I do in fact still use the Action Method Online application as well as the iPhone App. In fact, just last week, I did a massive reevaluation and Spring cleaning of my current projects (even the most action-oriented to-do lists sometimes fall flat).

Some additional thoughts 6 months later:

Pros: Still the best "personal" system I've found for getting things done.

Cons: Haven't seen any updates to the application---no further improvements, features, refining, etc. Considering the subscription-based nature of the application, it'd be nice to see some improvements and updates to the current web application.

Another gripe that has come to light in 6 months of usage is that the system doesn't seem to play well with those who are not signed up for the service. Considering the price, this doesn't make collaboration with friends/family/co-workers or any group with changing team members and/or personal projects involving others very easy. I'd like to see a better setup for working with those outside the system without requiring another paid, or at least full-priced, account.

I could go on with a list of personal requests for features and/or tweaks to the system, but ultimately I'd just like to see progress. Part of the value of a subscription service should be the understanding that you are paying for a service that will evolve with your needs. Lucky for the Action Method Online, there's really not much out there that does a better job, and certainly nothing that looks as good. But I imagine this won't always be the case.

Final Verdict: If you commit to the Action Method Online, you will accomplish more than you would without it. For that reason alone, it's worth it.

Can I get an Amen!

The best cure for this is partly what you're already doing. Acting a little more like BT! Not just because I'm awesome (ok, maybe that's a little bit of it) but because I took blindfolded, slightly intoxicated, adrenaline induced, no holds barred, reach for my goals, head first with a running start leap over the edge into what I call the "same great packaging but with new and improved ingredients" BT. It was a win for the ages....and we're not done winning yet!

Legendary.

This is a beautifully vulnerable post. Man, I've been there.

Looks like you are on the right path for YOU...which seems to be the most important thing for you and your heart right now.

Hang in there. My several days hanging with you revealed what a smart, hilarious, goofy, talented & handsome man you are. :)
